Wool fabric with diagonal stripes - how its made?

Wool fabric is made from the wool fibre by weaving, knitting or felting.

• Weaving is the most common method of manufacturing wool fabric and involves passing the warp threads over and under the weft threads to create a desired pattern in the fabric.
• Felting is a process for shrinking wool fibres together to produce felt.
• Knitting is a process for making knitted fabrics by interlacing loops of yarn using needles.

So what distinguishes a woolen fabric with diagonal stripes? It is wool woven by hand in a 2/2 weave. This means that the weft thread is passed through two warp threads, and each subsequent weft row is shifted by one thread. This creates the characteristic stripe pattern.
