The term "wool" can be used to refer to a set of fibers that are produced as the hair of certain animals. (In this case, you're talking about the woolen fabrics that come from sheep.) This fiber is unique in its versatility, because it can be spun into yarns or woven into a variety of fabrics with different properties—some soft and flexible like cashmere, others sturdy and coarse.

How wool fabrics are made?

The fibres are harvested from sheep that have been sheared before they grow too long. Some wool is actually sourced from other animals, such as llamas and alpacas (which provide the softest wool) or goats. The fibres are extracted by a process called "scouring"—scraping away the outer layer of skin and hair—and then they're cleaned and treated before being turned into cloth.

Is woolen fabrics historical?

Wool has been around for thousands of years, so it's not a new invention by any means. It's been used since ancient times to make things like tents, bedding, and clothing. While many fabric types have come and gone in fashion trends since then, wool has remained constant.

Wool fabrics are more popular than ever before, and it's easy to understand why. Wool is warm, comfortable, and ideal for a variety of climates. Wool has been used for centuries—it's even one of the earliest forms of fabric known—and its popularity has remained strong for good reasons: it feels nice on your skin, it's easy to care for, and it can be made in many different weights and styles.

What adventages have wool fabrics?

Wool is a natural, renewable resource that has had a long history of use in clothing, and it's still used by many people around the world. Wool fabrics are known for their unique properties: they're warm in cool temperatures and cool in warm temperatures, they're naturally resistant to dirt and staining, they insulate even when wet, they breathe well to prevent overheating, and they're nonirritating to sensitive skin. Because the fibers are able to move freely against each other when worn against your body, wool fabrics drape beautifully across the body and help maintain a comfortable temperature all year round.

Recycled wool - is it worth buying?

First of all, let's define what we mean by recycled wool. It is a fabric made from old woolen clothing that has been re-spun into yarn and then woven into cloth. Wool is one of the most widely recycled fibers in the world due to its durability and sustainability. Wool has many properties that make it a popular choice for recycling, including:

  1. They are eco-friendly – by purchasing recycled wool products, you will be helping to reduce the amount of waste produced in the world and helping to protect our environment.
  2. They are cheaper than virgin wool products – the cost of producing virgin wool is much higher than that of recycled wool, so this means that the price of recycled wool is lower than that of virgin wool.
